There are several basic types of glass jewelry on the market today. Most are made by applying heat to glass rods or pieces to fuse them together. After the glass melts or “melts”, it is removed from the furnace and cooled. It can then be shaped and installed in almost any environment. Because colored glass flows together, unlike a painting, the artist often has limited control over the results.
